In Support of Edmonds Heights K-12 Musical Theater

This petition is in response to the recent cancellation of the Musical Theater program at Edmonds Heights K-12. While insufficient information is available to recommend a course of action, we the undersigned wish to express our support for the work that Shileah Corey has done in building this program into one of the best in the state and express the importance of this program to a large percentage of sudents at Edmonds Heights K-12 and to the theater community of Seattle as a whole.

Shileah's tireless efforts and unique expertise have built a community of students and families that:
1) Brings acclaim to the school
2) Provides a complete program of high-level training for students interested in all aspects of theater at all ages that is difficult to find elsewhere.
3) Creates a safe, open, non-judgmental community and space for artistic students dealing with critical issues of identity and acceptance who face real and damaging prejudice, rejection, and bullying in other school and community environments to grow into strong, productive adults.
