Mary Lou Bruner, a retired school teacher, is a candidate for a seat on the Texas State Board of Education. Unfortunately, Bruner has voiced some of the most extremist views imaginable and if she wins, she will take those views and try to pass them on to the children of Texas. According to the Washington Post, she has voiced the following opinions:
- President Obama was a Gay Prostitute: "Obama has a soft spot for homosexuals because of the years he spent as a male prostitute in his twenties."
- "Middle Easterners are buying all of the textbooks in order to control what goes in them.";
- "Climate change has nothing to do with weather or climate; it is all about system change from capitalism (free enterprise) to Socialism-Communism. The Climate Change HOAX was Karl Marx's idea."
Her beliefs are so outrageous it helped prompt the recent news story "Our Democracy is in a State of Incompetency — Can Someone Call a Grown-Up?"
The bizarre opinions Bruner expresses and hopes to use to influence the curriculum for the school children of Texas are dangerous and detrimental to accurate knowledge!
