Parks for all! Demand 1/2 mile (10-minute walk) parkshed analyses for the new Oceanside Parks Masterplan!

The developer-controlled City of Oceanside is systematically eroding community park accessibility standards that existing residents have been promised and have invested in. The 1996 Parks Master Plan uses the national standard 1/2 mile service radius as an accessibility standard for community parks, but in the current master plan process has been circulating 15-minute walk (3/4 mile radius) parkshed analyses. We must defend the rights of the over 70,000 Oceanside residents currently underserved by our parks infrastructure.
