Protect Kelly’s Rights - Deny Her Killer Parole!

  • empfänger: New York State Parole Commissioners

On March 3rd, 1989, a young life was taken before it could truly begin. At just 13 years old, Kelly Ann Tinyes received a phone call and walked down the block to a neighbor's house where she was later found murdered. Robert Golub viciously and sadistically tortured her and then mutilated her body and hid her under his basement stairs. She was lured into that house with evil intentions. This was not only an act of violence but an unspeakable crime that has left a permanent scar on her family, her friends and the entire community.

Robert Golub was given the maximum sentence allowed under the law at that time. He was convicted and sentenced to 25 years to life in prison. Even the judge at his sentencing remarked that this was not harsh enough, saying "Unfortunately, the sentence options given to me by law fall short of the sentence which you truly deserve. The acts which you committed in this case are, by far, the most atrocious that I have ever experienced in my seventeen years as a judge. And the manner in which you killed Kelly Tinyes and mutilated her body, surpasses the worst murder known to this country. No dictionary contains sufficient words to describe the brutality of your acts." The gravity of this crime sent shock waves throughout the nation. Now, he is eligible for parole every 2 years and Kelly's family must constantly fight to keep a man who committed one of the most heinous crimes behind bars.

Kelly's murder robbed a young girl of her future and inflicted immeasurable pain that cannot be undone. Allowing Golub to be released would only deepen these wounds and send the message that such cruelty can be excused. No amount of time served can erase the magnitude of his actions. To release him now would diminish the value of Kelly's life and ignore the lifelong suffering and devastation endured by her loved ones, who often wonder what life would be like if Kelly was still here. Every birthday, holiday and milestone is a reminder of what was stolen from them.

Robert Golub's crime was not a momentary lapse in judgment but a deliberate and horrific act. Parole is meant to be considered when an individual has shown true rehabilitation, remorse, and the ability to re-enter society safely. Golub's actions, however, were of such a violent and calculated nature that they raise serious doubts about whether he could ever be trusted outside of prison walls. He has never shown any remorse for his brutal crime and continues to lie about the circumstances, despite the evidence. Releasing him would pose serious risk to public safety. Please sign our petition to ask the parole board to keep Robert Golub incarcerated. Help us get Justice for Kelly!

We, the undersigned, call on the New York State Parole Board to deny the parole request of Robert Golub Inmate # 90A8024.
