Google/Gmail: We want the old COMPOSE back!

The new version of "Compose" email is an attempt to mimic chatting, texting, and tweeting... But if people wanted to chat, text, or tweet, they should use those applications to do so -- not EMAIL.

Email should stay EMAIL.

Google, we the people, implore you to revert to the "old" and better version of "Compose" email. 

While most people are generally in favor of improving things or increasing efficiency, Google's new version of "Compose" email is neither an improvement nor an increase in efficiency for users of Gmail.  

This message board lists many reasons why people hate the new "Compose."  Please add to the message board your individual reasons for disliking the new "Compose," so that Google can take all of our criticism back to the drawing board:
