Make Trump Take His Algae With Him When He Leaves

Donald Trump promised to transform the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool into a beautiful, "American flag blue" showpiece that would last for generations.

Instead, taxpayers got algae, peeling surfaces, repeated draining, closed-off public space, and a bill liked to be 100 times the original estimate -- maybe higher. 

And now they're draining it yet again.

Trump rushed through an expensive vanity project without competing bids, it developed serious problems almost immediately, and the public still has not received a full accounting of what went wrong or who will pay to fix it.

The Reflecting Pool belongs to the American people. The algae, the botched work, and the bill should not be Trump's parting gifts to us.  When he goes, the algae goes with him.  It would be a great addition to the Mar-a-Lago pools.
