Discontinue Shine Bright

Baylor has a history of mistreating and abusing sexual assault victims. The University has claimed they have changed and the problem is solved. They have also started rebranding the University with their Shine Bright campaign.
But no one has asked the victims who are now going through their process how they feel about the University's progress, or how Title IX treated them or Baylor's Shine Bright campaign. If survivors were asked, people would see how far Baylor has to go. Baylor isn't done.
We want Baylor University to acknowledge how poorly survivors on campus have been treated in the past by the University itself, and to not judge for itself whether it is treating survivors well now. We want the campaign to end. There is still a long way for this University to go. If the University is going to Shine a Light, it should shine a light on its history--issuing a formal apology, and specific apologies and amends to former survivors. None of which Baylor has done. Baylor is trying to erase its dark past, survivors and their stories--not overcome them.
