FARM SECTION in Taos Magazine, now!

Petitioning Taos Magazine Publisher, Ms. Annabel Ascher

Taos Magazine is an independent monthly distributed throughout the region, a bright culture magazine with intellect alive on every page - and free to the public.

Ms. Ascher, the only hope for humanity is to return to local food systems. Haven't you always wanted a food section in your magazine, and what is food without farms?
How about a regular Farm Section in your publication featuring local farmers' voices? There's no end to the discussion now that farms are introducing an agricultural parity policy platform: tax-free farming, surplus purchase guarantees, local food certification, chemical ban, etc.
Taos Magazine's October article on SPGs and agricultural parity was very fine. 7 family farmers' voices, and yours. The piece should be nominated for indy magazine reporting awards because it's been 50 years since farms in Taos talked policy, and you, Ms. Ascher, got them to make a political statement and during the hectic growing season no less, Bravo!
Will you give family farms a permanent home?
A regular Farm Section in Taos Magazine means open and on-going talk between farms and publisher, always a vital report on local food just printed and one in the works, great news for our children and ecosystem.
We are petitioning for an eight year commitment.
Thank you for the gift of your magazine to the Taos Valley and beyond, and for your consideration!

Update #1vor 2 Jahren
Thank you, 150 signers, positive energy from so many points globally, 30 countries.

7,000 ft. above sea level, 40,000 people in an agricultural valley, we grow 0% of our food. Our food is shipped in on longhaul trucks. 50 years ago, before the Hippie Invasion, Taos was self-fed.
We need a farm section if we're going to have a food system.
Thank you for supporting farming. Please share and keep Taos in your prayers.
