LIBYA MEMBERSHIP IN THE AFRICAN UNION AND COMPENSATION FOR SLAVE TRADE

Libya as a member of the African union has betrayed the spirit of the union by allowing slave trade to flourish in the country. In view of this, the country should

1. Allow private investigators from the African union to look into the government involvement in allowing slave trade.

2. Take legal action on all the individuals involved in slave trade

3. Establish an inter-government- African union committee to look into the grievances and compensations for the lives lost, the injured both emotionally and physically.

Failure to do this, we call on the African union to:

1. Cancel membership of Libya to the African union

2. All member states neighboring Libya to close their borders with Libya

3. The African union to embargo import and export with Libya.
