Trump is
getting ready to remove the ban on "Black Site" C.I.A. prisons. "Black Site" prisons are places where the U.S. committed horrifying torture on prisoners, usually under the guise of national security. In the years since the Bush administration, most high-level personnel from these prisons have denounced the torture that went on. They said that not only was it a shameless violation of human rights, but it did not yield the interrogation results they were looking for.
So there is no evidence that torture keeps our country safer, and yet Trump wants to pave the way to allowing it again.

Guantanamo Bay, or Gitmo, which President Obama tried to empty and close and which holds prisoners the US has captured abroad in the fight against terrorism, is one of these "Black Site" prisons. Gitmo has seen an amazing amount of inhumane treatment AND we've learned that
many prisoners there are innocent!
