A group of other villagers (some of which have lived in Ystradowen for over 40 years) have come together to oppose a planning application submitted by The Meadow Vale Pub to turn the rear area into house, which could eventually meaning the demise of the pub for the village.
We are really passionate about this cause and have gathered initial support from many residents who feel the loss of a pub would have a huge impact on the future of the village. Not only would we lose the central hub where the community can gather but a reduction in amenities could also impact house prices in the future.
When you look at the neighbouring village of Aberthin and how that is thriving due to The Hare and Hounds and The Farmers, it's really upsetting for the residents of Ystradowen. In the White Lion days, which many of us remember, the village was a different place.
Please sign our petition to oppose the development planning appication and help SAVE YSTRADOWEN VILLAGE PUB and give our village a chance to thrive by having a central community hub.
