CONGRESS: STOP THE GMO FORCE-FEEDING OF AMERICA

On Wednesday, April 24, 2013, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) and Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.), determined to CANCEL THE GMO INDUSTRY'S RIGHT TO POISON US, introduced the urgently needed, save America "Genetically Engineered Food Right-To-Know Act" bills to the Senate and House of Representatives that would require food manufacturers to clearly label any product containing genetically engineered ingredients -- or risk having that product classified "misbranded" under the Federal Food Drug and Cosmetic Act (“FFDCA”).

The Boxer-DeFazio right-to-know bill is similar to existing regulations in sixty-four other countries, including EU members, China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Brazil and India.

Why do sixty-four nations around the globe have GMO Labeling? Because their citizens demanded the labeling to protect their loved ones from genetically mutilated foods and
3300 potential diseases that can be caused by eating GMO foods.  It is now our turn
to sign this Petition in support of the new "Genetically Engineered Food Right-To-Know Act" that is the first genetically modified organism (GMO) labeling bill to be introduced with both bicameral and bipartisan support. Its nine co-sponsors in the Senate include Alaska Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski, while Rep. Don Young, also a Republican from Alaska, is among its 22 cosponsors in the House.

CONGRESS: STOP THE GMO FORCE-FEEDING OF AMERICA

Pursuant to the Right to Petition Government Clause contained in the First Amendment of the United States Constitution, the Administrative Procedure Act  and the Food and Drug Administration’s (“FDA”) implementing regulations, petitioners respectfully request that Congress require all Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO foods), Genetically Engineered (GE foods) or foods that contain ingredients derived from genetically engineered and/or modified organisms collectively referred to as “GMO foods” be labeled under the Federal Food Drug and Cosmetic Act (“FFDCA”).

 Americans must have the right to know which products are Conventionally grown on the farm, organically grown or genetically modified GMO foods.  Conventional and Organic foods are labeled.  Why not GMO foods?  The GMO, GE food Manufacturers, engineers, "scientists", lobbyists have sold Congress, USDA, FDA, CDC and other regulatory agencies the argument that IF LABELED GMO, GE or GM, the vast majority of food shoppers WILL NOT BUY these
foods labeled GMO, GE or GM.

The requested actions are necessary to stop the manufacturers of GMO foods from force-feeding their genetically mutilated foods to the American people by  concealing the identity of GMO products because the American public is too stupid to know the "benefits" of GMO foods and therefore what they don't know is "good" for them, by mutilating the science behind life as well as the human Genome.   Following are just 2 scientific anti-GMO facts of life that no mortal has the power to change genetically, biologically or chemically:
FACT OF LIFE #1: Genes are The Master Key that determine how all living things, from humans to plants to bugs to bacteria, live, work and Function.

Playing life and death games with human food by cross inserting genes and DNA in our food supply is outright sabotage of the human race that took 3 million years to create. Gene insertion disrupts the DNA and can create horrific mutations, incurable diseases, gene and DNA alterations never known to mankind.
Mutilation of genes by any means, including gene modification or engineering, science behind the Genome (genes)  holds unimaginable horrors for the human race.  Diseases in general are rooted in our genes. Genes - through the proteins they encode - control how efficiently we process foods, detoxify poisons, respond to infections and inflammation.  Over 3,300 diseases can be triggered  mutated genes. Heart disease and most of the 100 types of cancers are caused by a complex interplay among multiple genes and between genes and factors in the environment. When a gene contains a mutation, the protein encoded by that gene naturally becomes abnormal.
FACT OF LIFE # 2: The human body does not have the enzymes to digest GMO foods and no mortal has the power to change this fact by cooking up a batch of pharma-enzymes.
An enzyme is a life support mechanism, not a pharmaceutical chemical.   Without the enzymes we are born with, we would not exist. Only whole farm-foods grown in the bosom and belly of Mother Earth can collaborate with the approximately 1300 enzymes found in the human cell. When these enzymes combine with coenzymes, they form nearly 100,000 various chemicals to repair tissue, assimilate food, to enable us to see, hear, feel, move, digest food, think, learn, walk, talk etc., etc.   Every organ, every tissue, and all the 100 trillion cells in our body depend upon the reactions of metabolic enzymes and their energy factor. Synthetic Nutrition and enzymes cannot be engineered by mortals who cannot create even a one-cell form of life. Without working enzymes there is no life.
The huge "positive" for GMO ( Genetically Modified Organism) foods is that the killer pesticides, toxins, poisons are embedded inside the body of the food and instantly massacres the pests upon contact.  But, such GMO foods are safe for humans because the GMO industry says so.  And why stop with food"?  Soon GMO engineers will genetically modify pests with pesticide proof genes?  Once the gene-sharing technology is used on food, why not on changing males into females, bugs into birds, mice into men.  The possibilities for mutations and mutilations are endless.
The much talked about GMO negative is factual fear that GMO foods may cause new types of cancer. Horrific cancers can be caused when cells accumulate genetic errors and multiply without control. By fiddling with the genetic makeup of a food or crop, some argue that they may become cancer carriers.  But, any negative is scorned and disbelieved and even if one billion people died of GMO Cancer, the GMO profiteers will say "this proves nothing. Six billion people are still alive.  When all 7 billion earthlings have Cancer, we will LABEL GMO foods"!
Genes are the instruction manuals that determine how all living things, from humans to plants to bacteria to bugs and pests, animals and sea life look and behave.  Three questions are uppermost on every food eater's mind:
1.  Will our Congress continue to allow the insane GMO pharma-engineers to make a witch's brew of genes and DNA that links humans, animals, bugs, fish and plants?
2. Will Congress allow Farming (where our food has been grown for millions of years in the bosom and belly of Mother Earth) to be changed to Pharming (where Chemical food is surgically "cooked" to fill the belly with food foreign to the human body)?
3. Humans have thrived and survived on Farm-Food born and nurtured with human compatible nutrients that, like mother's milk, can only be found in the bosom of Mother Earth since the creation of mankind. Now, will we outsmart ourselves by changing the code of life and the Genome when mortals cannot create even a one-cell life? Will Congress force-feed America on GMO Pharming -- Pharma-Foods?
 
As The Institute for Responsible Technology cautions, some of the GMO health risks are: 
1. Foreign genes disrupt the DNA at the insertion site
2. Growing GM crops using tissue culture can create hundreds or thousands of DNA mutations
3. Gene insertion creates genome-wide changes in gene expression
4. Genetic engineering activates mobile DNA, called transposons, which generate mutations
5. Novel RNA may be harmful to humans and their offspring
6. Roundup Ready soybeans produce unintentional RNA variationsChanges in proteins via gene insertion can alter thousands of natural chemicals in plants, increasing toxins or reducing phytonutrients GM crops have altered levels of nutrients and toxins
7. In spite of industry claims, GMO transgenes survive the human digestive system and can wander
8. Transgene design facilitates transfer into human gut bacteria
9. Transgenes may proliferate in human gut bacteria over the long-term
10.Transgene transfer to human gut bacteria is confirmed
11. GMO foods might create antibiotic-resistant diseases in humans
12. The promoter can also transfer, and may switch on random genes or viruses in humans
13. If Bt genes transfer, they could turn our human gut bacteria into living pesticide factories
14. Genes may transfer to bacteria in the mouth or throat of humans
15. Transfer of viral genes into gut microorganisms may create toxins and weaken peoples' viral defenses
16. GM crops may increase environmental toxins and bio-accumulate toxins in the food       chain
17. Glufosinate-tolerant crops may produce herbicide "inside" our intestines
18.  Herbicide-tolerant crops increase herbicide use and residues in our food
19.  Tiny amounts of herbicide may act as endocrine disruptors
20.  GM crops may accumulate environmental toxins or concentrate toxins in milk and meat of GM-fed animals
21. Disease-resistant crops may promote new plant viruses, which carry risks for humans
None can deny that GMO/GE foods hide unparalleled risks: 

FACT: Over eight hundred scientists from 84 countries have signed The World Scientist open letter to all governments calling for a ban on the patenting of life-forms and emphasizing the very grave hazards of GMOs, genetically-modified seeds and GM foods. This was submitted to the UN, World Trade Organization and US Congress.
FACT:  The Union of Concerned Scientists (a 1000 plus member organization with many Nobel Laureates) has raised its scientific Red Flag.
FACT: The respected medical journal, Lancet, published an article on the research of 
Arpad Pusztai showing potentially significant harms to humans in eating GMO/GE foods.
FACT: Britain's Medical Association (with over a 100,000 physicians) called for an outright banning of genetically-modified foods and labeling the same in countries where they still exist.
FACT: In a gathering of political representatives from over 130 nations, drafting the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety, approximately 95% were gravely concerned over human consumption of GMO/GE foods.
FACT: The National Academy of Science report on genetically-modified products urged greater scrutiny and assessments.
FACT: Prominent FDA scientists have repeatedly expressed profound fears and reservations but their voices were muted not due to cogent scientific reasons but intense political pressure.
FACT: No major insurance company is willing to limit risks, or insure bio-engineered agricultural products.
