Tell National Environment Trust Fund (NETFUND) Kenya to respect Copyrights
NETFUND’s concluded Prestigious Green Award (PGA) was a direct translation of Greyfos’s copyrighted Zingatia Mazingira Competition. Thus copyright infringement. Greyfos’s Zingatia Mazingira Competition was copyrighted by Kenya Copyright Board on November 11 2011. The copyright number is KCB 01034.
This petition is important since NETFUND refused to acknowledge that the continued implementation of their PGA Award amounted to copyright infringement despite Greyfos’s concerted efforts to find an amicable solution to the impasse. Due to their arrogance, they went further to withdraw earlier propositions for Greyfos involvement as PGA’s main partners and agreement that they defer the implementation of the Award pending the determination of the Greyfos suit CMCC no. 2521 of 2012 at Milimani Law Courts. The suit was dismissed on 21st September, 2012 with costs on grounds that NETFUND is a trust and thus cannot be sued.
NETFUND as a state agency ought to have upheld the rule of law and not acted on the contrary. Their actions thus cast aspersions on the future of green society
This action was not warranted and an insult to the laws that protect the integrity of intellectual property in the world.
They since threatened to sue Greyfos for defamation because of our concerted efforts to protect our copyright.
