Oxford University: end racist admissions process

Oxford University has released shock statistics showing that black students are still rarely offered a place in their colleges, despite years of supposed improvements in diversifying admissions.

The figures revealed consistent unrepresentation of black students across the Oxford colleges. 10 out of 32 Oxford colleges did not award a single place to a black British pupil with A-levels in 2015. Black British people constitute around 3% of the UK population, but only 1.5% of all offers went to black British candidates.

The information was only released after extensive pressure from former education minister David Lammy, who said: ''This is social apartheid.''

Oxford university has focussed resources and attention on external factors that might prevent black students applying. But why should black students apply if the internal process is so skewed against them? It's time Oxford looked closer to home, and improved their admissions process.

Please sign this petition to demand that Oxford investigate and overhaul its admissions process to ensure fair opportunities for black students.

Oxford University:

The recent admissions information released under pressure from David Lammy reveals that Oxford is still failing black students. Black students are severely under-represented across your colleges.

It's time to examine the admissions process so that black students are given equal opportunity to study at Oxford.
