Stop exploitative "purchasable alternative currency packs" in video-games

You see it everywhere. It seems that there cannot be a single game released without some form of micro-transaction system attached to it and this petition is targeting one of the core pillars of that system. I'm not even saying that micro-transactions should be banned but the practice of using an alternative in game currency to mask or hide the actual cost of the product is dishonest and immoral.

Game companies use this system for a couple of reasons. For one it allows them to display their products with a corresponding price that doesn't immediately shock or otherwise scare the customer from the sale. The other is that, by offering "currency packs" the game can get you to pay more for a product than you actually should, or that they advertised.

Let's say you see an awesome weapon skin that is advertised for 1,000 bits. Ok, it's really cool, but how much does a "bit" cost in USD? You go to the proper page and find the bit packs you can buy. They come in three sizes: 750 bits for $7.50, 1500 bits for $15, or 2300 bits for $20. You can see that each bit is roughly one cent, with the exception of the biggest bit pack that gives you 300 bits for free. The packs are deliberately offered in a way to make you pay at least $15 dollars for an item that is advertised for $10. That 500 bits you have left over? Useless, because almost any other product you can buy with it will cost more than 500 bits, which brings you back to the bit pack store to once again, spend more for an item than it was advertised for.

The goal of this petition is NOT to remove micro-transactions entirely but instead focus on this deceitful method of forcing players to pay more for an item than advertised. Ideally I'd like to see all forms alternative currency purchasable with real money to disappear, but I would be satisfied with simply requiring games to allow players to buy the exact amount they need to get the item they want and not a dollar more.
