Help the Carmelite Nuns - made homeless by local authority.

We, the undersigned, affix our signatures to this document to indicate our sympathy for the Carmelite Nuns of Corran South, Leap, Co. Cork, Ireland, for the shameful and unjust way in which they have been treated by Cork County Council. We consider it a public disgrace that a country, which is proud to have received the Catholic Faith from Saint Patrick, should persecute two Catholic Nuns holding fast to that same Faith and attempting to live a dedicated life of prayer and penance on behalf of us all. Regardless of any alleged breach of planning laws, whether real or otherwise, we believe these Nuns have the right to continue their Religious life with the help, rather than the hindrance of the government. We claim, furthermore, that our own rights to have such Religious sacrificing themselves for our spiritual welfare and those of our children, have been shamefully violated. We therefore demand, for the sake of justice, human rights, the honour of God and the good of all peoples, that since Cork County Council have been responsible for depriving these Carmelite Nuns of their home and impeding them from living a proper monastic life, either Cork County Council or those directly responsible for this outrage, should provide these Nuns with a new Hermitage suitable for their needs and the means to continue their Religious Life of prayer and sacrifice in peace for the common good of ourselves and all families.

There is a further court hearing scheduled for 28 April, 2020 at 10:30AM at the Skibbereen District Court. We warmly invite any persons who would like to raise their voice in our support to attend this court hearing. While Cork County Council Planning Executive  claimed that we are in breach of planning laws, we would like to make it clear to our supporters that in truth, this is NOT at all about planning laws, but about evicting us from our land in order to please the well-to-do holiday home owners along our road, (one in particular directly opposite our land) just so they get a better price in the sale of their house.

In the interest of human rights we also invite you to sign this petition so that we may have some hope of being able to continue our religious life in peace. Thank you and may God bless you.

Ave Maria
Dear Friends,
Our deepest gratitude for your signature and comments. St. John of the Cross say "to pick up a pen for the glory of God could save a soul." If he were alive today he would say "to touch a few letters on you keyboard or phone for the glory of God and the support of His Consecrated Daughters, will save a soul and most certainly will not go unrewarded by God, Who cannot be out done in showing charity. God bless you all and thank you again. We pray for you & we love you.
