The Benzodiazepine Scandal - more safeguards are needed for the prescribing of benzodiazepine drugs.

We are pursuing the recognition of the Benzodiazepine Withdrawal Syndrome, an iatrogenic illness with physical and neurological symptoms from therapeutic use and cessation of benzodiazepines (e.g. Ativan, Temazepam, Nitrazepam, Clonazepam, Valium). People are incredibly sick, losing their lives, families, jobs and ability to function. These conditions often inspire prescribing more psychiatric medications due to misdiagnosis and side effects. Proper protocol for diagnosing, prescribing, distribution and cessation of these drugs requires further studies for a more thorough understanding of potential dangers. Current studies lack sufficient time/funds to analyse effectiveness and consequences of these drugs which present serious complications even after short term use. Please help us protect innocent people, educate doctors and save lives with reform and accountability.
