Global Tell Link has a monopoly on inmate calling, and we, the families and loved ones, are forced to subject ourselves to outrageous phone fees in order to keep communication open with our family members.
As if phone calls from our inmates weren't already exorbitant, GTL has now forced extra fees upon us, spiking the price of these services to a level much higher than is reasonable or fair. In my personal opinion, it is unethical.
There are so many reviews online proclaiming the never ending wrongdoings of this company. They spike fees, they charge you for messages not sent or posted, they take fees from customers in states they don't even service, they promise customer service, but never answer their calls, and they give no replies to your emails.
The despair felt when a loved one is behind bars is inconceivable. We're all on prison schedule. There is only so much communication we can get from them in the first place without having to worry how much it costs us.
