Tell Republicans you won’t pay their salary during their tantrum!

Republican lawmakers are once again using the threat of a government shutdown to get what they want, and it could have a detrimental effect on millions of workers' pay. Except, of course, the pay of those in Congress — which is clear by their brazen disregard of any consequences a shutdown might have. The truth is, Republicans in Congress have nothing to lose if they continue their tantrum and they know it. 

Democratic Representative Angie Craig is putting those Republicans on blast with her MCCARTHY Shutdown Act, or, the "My Constituents Cannot Afford Rebellious Tantrums, Handle Your Shutdown Act." True! The bill would block congressional paychecks during a shutdown, something long overdue. 

While the legislation might not necessarily make it to a vote, it makes a crucial point that needs to be emphasized: we can not afford to allow Republicans to hijack the lawmaking process. We can't allow millions of people to be without pay just so the GOP can get their bottom line.
