After years of struggle, homosexuality is respected and accepted in all EU countries. However, some therapists are still trying to "cure" homosexuality, treating sexual orientation as if it was a disease.
Within the EU it should be unacceptable that someone intends to change, repress or eliminate the sexual orientation of any person. However, these false therapists who promise to 'cure' homosexuality continue acting with total impunity in most European countries, contributing to the demonization of a perfectly natural sexual orientation.
Luckily, some have begun to take action: Malta has become the first EU country to explicitly ban the offering of therapies to cure homosexuality. This brave step should be followed immediately by the other EU countries, to stop a supposedly curative activity that lacks ethical or scientific basis and that can be very dangerous for the psychological health of the victims. Sign this petition now and ask the rest of EU countries to follow the steps of Malta and to ban any type of therapy to 'cure' homosexuality.
