A historical monument that is the embodiment of our Nation's history, In the 1800s members of the international typographical union were stricken with the black lung from carbon based ink. It was believed that mountain view climate in Colorado Springs was beneficial to the healing of these workers so an effort to accommodate the Union Printers workers, laid plans in 1882 and brought forth the designs and construction was initiated and completed.
