Ask Asheville, NC to Block ICE Agents from Entering Schools Without a Warrant

New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio recently ordered school staffers not to allow immigration officials to enter their properties without a warrant signed by a judge. Asheville, North Carolina should take the same step to protect immigrant students.

I live in Asheville, and it pains me to think that a child could be forcibly removed from school and detained just because they are an immigrant. To be singled out by armed agents in front of your peers must be terrifying.

I would love to see Asheville become a sanctuary city, but until then, the least we can do is help students to feel safe in school. Please sign this petition to ask Asheville City Council to direct schools not to allow Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in to schools in the city without a warrant.
