From Dollywood Express Locomotives: The park officials at Dollywood have decided that the train is interrupting things around the park. So now the engineers are only allowed to blow two half second toots at each crossing. (Yes, you read that right half a second). Now the only whistle that is allowed to be longer than a half second is the specialty whistle at the top of the mountain.
That wholesome whistle you can hear from the car is what makes every child grin. As soon as we arrive at the park we can hear her rolling as she travels up the hill. Dollywood officials are making a huge mistake by diminishing the sounds of Dollywood. The soul of Dollywood are those beautiful locomotive engines. Many seasons pass holders take the trip from all over just to ride the train. I strongly urge the Dollywood officials to reconsider cutting back on her whistle. Don't bend to the societies urge to silence these beautiful giants- embrace her sound and let her whistle freely.
