Demand an end to police cuts and make communities safe

Here in the Heatons, as well as other areas of Stockport, crime is increasing at an alarming rate.

Cuts to the police force have really stretched the resources to breaking point, Greater Manchester Police lost 23% of its police officers and there are more cuts to come. We support our local police and value their efforts in tackling crime, but there's just not enough of them to be effective.

We need our police to have the resources to deal with the crimes that are happening. We've all witnessed the area's growing crime rate and the lack of police on the streets means that more crimes are happening every day.

Keeping our streets safe is a challenge, even more so with the drastic and unfair cuts. It just means the police have more to do with less resources.

So I call on our MP Ann Coffey to stand up for Stockport and present this petition to parliament.
