Demand for Mandatory Regular Blood tests for anyone over the age of 30

I recently went to the Dr. and as i felt very tired and hot i thought i was going through the menopause...The Dr said it was probably my age and there wasn't a lot they could do about it..and perhaps i should get something from the health shop.

I suggested a blood test..but she was very non committal about it. It wasn't until i really pushed for blood tests that she agreed. It turned out that i hadn't had a blood test for 4 years.

It has now transpired after various tests. etc. I have a malignant tumor.. Bearing in mind I
pushed for these tests...and I would have never ever have known as i have had no symptoms.

My tumor could have gone undetected for a very long time.. and by then it could have really grown or I would have had to wear a bag

I am doing this petition to help other people...Hopefully i can get enough signatures and i can submit this to a health board/10 Downing Street.. I think lives could be saved and in the long run expensive medical treatment avoided.

As we get older our bodies change. For women there is a mandatory breast cancer check at 50 and regular smear tests from a young age. Also when people get to 60 they are offered a bowel cancer screening test.

Prevention is better than cure every time..and I just hope this petition will save lives and make the medical profession sit up and take notice.
