Demand YouTube Stop Suppressing Women's Issues Videos!

We are a group of people devoting our life's work to elevating the real stories of hardships girls and women face all over the world, from rape to abuse to sexual assault to sex trafficking and beyond.

We do this in large part through our charitable project Real Women Real Stories. You may have watched a video or signed a Care2 petition featuring our videos and the women we work with. Some of our stories are painful. But all of them need to be heard. Some of the videos on our YouTube channel have received millions of views and thousands of comments. Most have been posted and reposted on news sites around the world and shared countless times on social media. Our project has changed women's lives as their stories give lots of strength and hope to the masses. We have embraced millions of women who currently have no voice, and received thousands of thank you letters...

But YouTube is effectively punishing our project by demonetizing our videos. YouTube has justified this by saying some videos, including ones we have published about sexual assault and rape, are not "advertiser-friendly." By removing our ability to make money and pay for productions, YouTube is handing down a death sentence for this very important women's empowerment project. Please stand with us and urge YouTube to support gender equality and awareness of women's issues! You can also become our patron and support our efforts.

Diminishing our ability to bring more women forward means failing to raise awareness and eliminate gender-based violence. Now more than ever, we need your support to continue making women's voices heard. We are not compromised by corporate money or beholden to advertisers or access to the powerful, because we do not want to sanitize our content.

Only you have the power to help us build this bridge and make YouTube folks realize the project's importance, foster better understanding, encourage dialogue and hopefully lead toward acceptance and monetization of our movies.

It's high time YouTube get off their high horse and agree to treat its creators better, especially those who fight for a better future. Please sign this petition to urge YouTube to stop suppressing women's rights videos and to re-monetize Real Women Real Stories so that we may continue to do this important work. Become our patron here.

1 in 3 women will be experience physical or sexual assault at least once in her lifetime -- every 98 seconds a woman is being sexually assaulted. It can be your sister, your mother, your daughter, your niece… We can no longer afford to ignore this social issue. Be our light in this dark time.

Words can't fully express how thankful I am for your support in our petition. This is how the war on women looks like. Instead of amplifying women's voices, our videos are being consistently demonetized by a male dominated corporation, YouTube. Why not help to raise awareness about women's issues, a subject that is SO pervasive yet, not spoken openly about? Help us light it up! Evil likes to be hidden in the dark.
