Telemarketers call at all hours of the day and night with no respect for privacy. The National Do Not Call List does not cover most of them or they ignore it. If you have children, elderly or handicapped people living with you, this can disrupt your life. Congress needs to pass a law controlling these people and when they can call.
Dear Honorable Members of the Senate and House of Representatives:
Telemarketers call at all hours of the day and night with no respect for privacy. The National Do Not Call List does not cover most of them or they ignore it. If you have children, elderly or handicapped people living with you, this can disrupt your life. Congress needs to pass a law controlling these people and when they can call. They call in the morning and wake people us up, they call at dinnertime, they fill up our answering machines and they call after bedtime. They need to be better controlled. There should also be a way to complain about spammers from other countries and in the USA who pretend to be the IRS, the FBI or other governmental agencies who call 20 to 40 times a day to try and con people out of their money. Right now there is no way to report these people or have them investigated. They cause great expense as people have to change phone numbers, emails or cell phones. We are hoping that there is something you can do to tighten the controls on the Do Not Call Registry to cover Polictical calls, Charitable Organizations and Spammers.
