Dear Cecil Clarke, this petition is to bring a much overdue bike park to the CBRM.
Biking is becoming more and more popular but there are no facilities or spaces to accommodate this. We have many skate parks in the CBRM, many of which are run down and are no longer used, but we do not have a single bike park.
Recent news of Porthawksbury announcing they are building a "pump track" is amazing news and a very good start. This makes us hopeful Sydney could see the same.
Throughout the entire province there are many bike parks poping up everywhere, many of which are being built by Shore Line dirt Works. They have been contacted, asked if they have ever done work in the Sydney area, stated no, but they would love to; as they grew up here, know the area well and know that the clientel is here.
As the old saying goes "if you build it, they will come".
We need some where to ride in Sydney, and kids need a safe place to learn bike skills and master the craft. It is long over due that Industrial Cape Breton gets a bike park.
