If you haven't heard yet, local Shira Dubrovner spent a ton of time creating the Mammoth LAKES Film Festival, now heading into its 4th year. It's had great success and the hope is a continued growth for the festival. Unfortunately another group has decided to do a film festival with a similar name, Mammoth Film Festival, which is creating a lot of confusion with film submissions for the festival. This petition is NOT about stopping the other festival which wants to be in our town in February. It IS however about asking, as Mammoth Lakes locals, for a name change. So, in signing this petition the hope is that the new festival organizers will see the number of locals who are in support of a name change to help eliminate the confusion and keep the hard work that Shira has put into the Mammoth LAKES Film Festival with her festival. Since they will most likely need locals to volunteer at their festival, hopefully we can convince them as a group to change their name. Thank you for your support. I am putting this petition online as a Mammoth local who is concerned about this issue.
