Stop the cruel killings of rats in NY!!!

It has recently come out that New York pest controls have planned to drown rats in the city with booze!!I am so bothered by this. Pests can be culled for the right reasons as long as it's done none painlessly so these animals last moments are spent liked on top of eachother and gasping for air. Please help me stop this or make it non brutal.
