USP Hazelton Shut Down

There Have been 2 deaths at USP Hazelton in the last 5 months. This place needs to be shut down! The inhumane treatment on inmates has become an all time high! Inmates are denied food, rec time, And proper health treatment. Inmates that are in solitary confinement are beat and starved! They are given an unsharpened pencil and expected to be able to sharpen it with their teeth or on the floor. They are denied their right to mail. In general population mail takes over 3 weeks to get to families and when it comes there's times the envelopes aren't even sealed. The inmates are not fed proper nutrition, are not provided with programs, And are missing out on moves outside. Inmates are not supposed to live farther than 500 miles from their home, yet inmates are thousands of miles away from their home. Staff at USP Hazelton is far from respectful or professional! The staff at the front desk never answers the phone so families travel thousands of miles for visits only to get there to find out that visits have been canceled due to lockdown status. This prison is on lockdown status more than any other facility. They will lock down for something as simple as a staff shortage. They were given money for their budget for staff yet they are short and the money is unaccounted for. When families go for visits they are treated disrespectful. The vending machines are never full and if the beverage machine breaks down the correctional officers deny inmates glasses for water. The inmates go well over 6 hours with nothing to eat or drink! This inhumane treatment needs to be stopped and USP Hazelton needs to be shut down!!!!
