I need your support!! As most of you already know our school ECOT was forced to shut down without notice. Imagine waking up one morning to your children having no school to attend. It's devastating to a 12,000 plus children that a school they were attending was their safe haven. Children were unable to say good bye to the teachers that have become family to them. These 800 teachers woke to up no job!!! They were unable to explain to their students what was going on. These teachers wasn't just a face on a screen, they were the students biggest supports when others in the educations system has failed them. They believed in the students, and that every student isn't molded to be the same. These children were protected and safe from the problems that may have happened to them in the brick and mortar school that they were attending. Each child has a story. There are children that have disabilities, medical issues, or live in a disrupted school district. Some of these children were broken, low self-esteem, and let down. ECOT helped find the great abilities that was within them. These children deserve a chance just like the next one.
I am a mother of a child that was bullied and badgered at a brick and mortar school. My son was judged by his own school district. Yes, this happens all the time. Hard to believe when a school should be accustomed to every child is different. The problem is my child isn't like everyone else's or what they call a molded child. He has his own personality, in which I am fine with. My son suffers from ADHD/ODD and autism, as many others do attending ECOT. You would think that a school would accommodate to his needs, but it's not like that. It's a hard fight to get your child the help he needs. My son will never go back to the brick and mortar school. ECOT was great with all his needs. He grew so much with them. There are countless stories like mine.
We need a new sponsor so these children can go back to a school they trust and thrive in. We are not asking to keep the founder, for he has caused all this mess.
We parents, students, and teachers need your support!!! They deserve it!! I would love to hear your stories of why your child attended ECOT. Let the world know!!!!! The closing of Ecot has parents thinking that ODE doesn't share the same things we do on how the closing of this school has had an emotional impact on the families and students.
