Bolsonaro does to Brazil forest what a cigarette does to your lungs!
Brazil lost in a year (aug 2017-july 2018) 7900sq kms forest. The forest plays an important role in the successfull economy of Brazil. Products as wood chips, laminated woord, paper, flooring, furniture, fibre panels and packaging are being consumed over the world.Brazil has around 7.7 million hectares of certified fores, next to that there is plenty of uncertified timber produced and processed. How ever protesting against the exploitation of this natural resource is notified by foreign minister, Ernesto Araujo, as a Marxist plot and added as 'an instrument of domination by big economies' by vice-president General Hamilton Mourao. Environmetalists warned that the president Jair Bolsonaro shall worsen deforestation. According to scientist rainforest now days is very close to 20%, on that level you can hardly speak of a forest. Next to that Bolsonaro wants to allow mining in protected indigenous reserves.
The policy of Bolsonaro since the election january 2018 is deprived from any form of forest protection. The only influence to withdraw these kind of plans is the arguments of agricultural producers who don't like to risk a boycott of their products. In the contrary, this devastating policy will do grow the number of consciously consumers.
With the signatures we will put pressure on Floorstores and Woodmarkets, comparable shops to stop selling these Brazil products, and on the governement and Brazil to change from devastating acts to protection policies. The list of signatures will go to all furniture shops in Holland, to the gouvernement of Holland and Brazil. They will be informed and warned about the damage of the last earth's green vains in Brazil.
