Keep ALL Westridge Neighborhood Kids at Westridge Elementary School!

Because of school overcrowding along the Old Bridge Road corridor, the Prince William County School System is building a new elementary school which is due to open at the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year. Boundary adjustments are needed to prepare for the opening of the new school, Prince William Parkway Elementary School, and of classroom additions at Antietam, Lake Ridge, Springwoods, Minnieville and Leesylvania Elementary Schools. The proposed boundary change has the children who currently live in the Westridge neighborhood and who currently attend Westridge Elementary School split between Westridge Elementary and Springwoods Elementary. Westridge Elementary School is not currently overcrowded and under no circumstances should neighborhood kids be removed from their current school to allow additional students to be added. We, the signers of this petition believe that all of these children should continue to attend Westridge Elementary School. It is important to keep the Westridge kids at their neighborhood school, to maintain the current level of diversity and sense of community. Keep Westridge together!
