Pay Today Show Hosts Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie the Same as Matt Lauer

Tired of hard-working women being paid less than their male colleagues? I sure am — and today we can do something about it.

Hoda Kotb was just named as the new replacement host for Matt Lauer on the Today Show. But Kotb and popular Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie will both reportedly earn less than one third of disgraced Today Show anchor Matt Lauer's previous yearly salary.

Lauer was forced to leave the show earlier this year in the wake of deeply disturbing allegations that he had sexually harassed female co-workers, creating a hostile work environment for the women of NBC News. The network denied Lauer's request for severance pay, arguing that Lauer was fired for good cause.

This issue is about more than harassment — it's about respecting and fairly valuing women's contributions to the workplace.

And, unfortunately, NBC is still not doing right by hard-working journalists like Hoda Kotb, who worked hard for her new job as morning anchor for NBC's Today Show. Forced to crisscross the South and sleep in her car as she searched for her first on-camera job, Kotb is now one of the most recognized names in broadcast journalism with more than two decades of experience and a daytime Emmy under her belt.

It's infuriating that longtime journalist like Kotb and Gunthrie would be paid less than a disgraced sexual harrasser.

Please sign my petition to NBCUniversal demanding that they pay fair and equal pay for Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie. Will you help? Please add your name now.
