People should sign this petition to ensure our small town businesses stay alive. If a Costco is brought to the Kootenay's, small businesses will shut down. We are not a box store city.
Our young generation unfortunately no longer sees the value in shopping local. Box stores may offer lower prices and more selection, but often times you are not getting the same quality or SERVICE.
There could be plenty of other stores other than Wal-mart and Costco available if people would shop local.
As noted in the petition "Bring Costco to the Kootenays" there are a lot of supporters for Costco in the Cranbrook area. Cranbrook is approximately 3 hours away from a Costco in Lethbridge, and 3 hours away from the West Kootenays. Cranbrook survives as a city due to it's smalltown businesses. The Kootenays will survive without a Costco.
Please sign the petition that counteracts the petition "Bring Costco to the Kootenays". One signature can make a difference.
