A Message for the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency Board of Directors

For years, the Municipal Transportation Agency (MTA) has been removing bus shelters and benches. At this time, more than 65% of all surface level bus stops don’t have a shelter with seating. We at Senior & Disability Action believe this action is in conflict with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Seniors and people with disabilities need seating and shelter while waiting for the next bus. As we push the SFMTA to completely restore all Muni service routes, it is time to make Muni routes accessible for all riders by having a shelter with seating at each bus stop.

We the undersigned demand all surface level bus stops have a bus shelter with seating, audible and visible display of the next bus estimated arrival time, and route maps.
