Please sign this petition if you agree that everyone has the right to swim, regardless of their physical ability.
This petition calls on the City Council of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada to:
1) Change the interior of a local swimming pool allowing full access to all. For example, provide widen doorways, spacious change rooms, necessary ceiling hoists and tracking systems.
2) Provide the appropriate equipment and tools enabling everyone to fully access and benefit from the community pools.
3) Provide the appropriate equipment and tools ensuring that any risk to pool patrons is minimal.
We, the undersigned, would like The City Council of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada to provide accessible swimming for all City residents, by providing wide door access, tracking or hoist equipment in the change area, adequate space in change areas, appropriate furnishings to limit risk of injury to individuals or support, integrated pool ramp and grab rail, poolside hoist with chair and sling option. (Individuals to provide their own slings)
We feel that everyone should have the choice and right to exercise, socialize and be part of the community and have fun with family and friends whether disable or not.
