George Clooney: Take a Stand Against the Hollywood Gender Pay Gap!

Last week, Jennifer Lawrence penned a scathing essay expressing her anger and disappointment when she learned during the Sony Hacks that she'd been paid considerably less than her male co-stars in American Hustle. In the essay, she vowed to negotiate for fair pay in future projects and demand equal compensation for her work.

Bradley Cooper, a frequent co-star of Lawrence and a fellow member of the American Hustle cast, claims he was just as shocked to realize he was paid millions more than his female co-stars. As a result, he's vowed that he will no longer sign on to any projects without discussing his salary with his colleagues to ensure that they're being paid fairly.

The Hollywood gender pay gap has gone on long enough -- it's time for male actors to start standing up for equality and demanding that their costars are compensated fairly.

Veteran actor George Clooney has already stated on record that acknowledging the pay gap between men and women in the film industry is "a very good conversation" to have. Now, we want to ask him to take that support for his female coworkers to the next level.

As a supporter of LGBT rights and humanitarian causes around the world, we hope he'll be willing to use his activism to promote equality closer to home. Please sign this petition to urge Mr. Clooney to share his salary with his female co-stars and to insist on that they be paid fairly for their level of experience and expertise.

Mr. Clooney,

As a supporter of humanitarian causes around the globe, we the undersigned request that you pledge to support your female co-stars and demand that they be paid fairly for their hard work. Bradley Cooper has already stepped up, promising to discuss compensation with his colleagues at the start of any new film projects. Will you do the same?

Thank you for your tireless work promoting fairness and equality around the world. We hope you'll take a stand on the Hollywood pay gap as well.
