Metal detectors at school entrances in Philadelphia and Bucks County Pennsylvania

I think it’s ridiculous that President Trump is making Mental Illness the topic of concern after this Florida school shooting . It has always been an issue. But , conveniently bringing attention to that, when gun control is being confronted is sad! He suddenly wants to care about mental health? So disingenuous! Mental health never has gotten the attention it deserves and the one light we had to begin to improve it was taken away by our very President in his Health Care Reform Act. It’s disgusting! This is the 18th school shooting. Innocent children and families affected and pained. Every family worrying about the safety of their children going to class is the NORM! Yes, Mental Health is a huge concern, but Gun Control is also! I hope he takes steps to make Mental Health Care affordable to those who need it. I also hope takes appropriate steps to improve gun control, specifically beginning in schools and all mental health facilities. No reason there should not be metal detectors at this point in every school entrance and government funded public /non profit agencies. As a person who works in the mental health field , inpatient specifically, you see people get better and improve. That is the goal right? Safety of all , including those with mental health issues. We need safety for our children first. Please sign the attached petition to place metal detectors in the entrance of every public and private school in Philadelphia and Bucks County, Pennsylania. Small steps towards bigger change!
