Innovation Credit Union wants to reduce the Shell Lake, Medstead, Buffalo Narrows, Meota, Lancer and Hodgeville Branch hours by closing Tuesdays and Thursdays as well as 12:30pm-1:00pm on the three days they will be open starting January 4, 2016. This will have an incredibly negative impact on our community and it's economy as all the businesses rely on each other for spin off business.
As a rural communities our typical customer travels 10-45 minutes to get to our community. Once here they utilize a number of services (banking, groceries, insurance, restaurant, hardware, etc). If we can't provide them with all of the required services they will find a community can can meet all their needs. Reducing the credit union hours will have a negative financial impact on our other businesses. Which in turn could result in further reduced hours or closurers of other businesses.
The CEO, Chief Retail Officer and President of the Board of Directors at Innovation Credit Union have all been made aware of our concerns to which their repsonse was "you will adjust".
