Pass Paid Sick Days for All Workers!

Many workers face a stark choice: Go to work sick or lose the job they rely on to pay for food and shelter.

Workers all across America are putting themselves at risk all because they can't take a few days off to get better from being sick. It's reprehensible, but it doesn't have to be this way.

President Obama recently announced his support for paid sick days, and Rep. Rosa DeLauro has introduced the Healthy Families Act to pass paid sick days nationally. Now we need to stand up and pressure Congress to do it!

We've been using our voices and our votes to make universal paid sick days a reality. We planted the seed in Connecticut with the first statewide paid sick days bill, then won big in New York City, and passed it in eight more New Jersey cities this past year. Just last month, we passed paid sick days in Philadelphia!

Right now we have a big opportunity — by continuing to show momentum for paid sick days we have a chance to make sure it becomes a national issue in the 2016 campaign and beyond. Big corporations will rail against this proposal to stop it from getting any traction, and we can't let that happen.
