In this petition, we demand Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, to stop Archeological excavations and construction in the Holy Land that is desecrating ancient Jewish cemeteries in gross violation of Jewish law. We also denounce the Israeli police's beatings of peaceful demonstrators & tear gassing of octogenarian Rabbis and Sages who are protesting the clearing of five ancient cemeteries and continued action to empty a cemetery in Jaffa in order to construct a hotel.

http://www.fromNYtoDC.comI, the signed hereinafter, a US citizen and resident, hereby PETITION the Government of the United States of America, and in particular the US Department of State, to impress upon the Israeli government at the highest level, to put an immediate stop to all kinds of archeological diggings that disturb the final resting place of our Jewish ancestors throughout the Holy Land. I hereby also PETITION the US Government to call for an immediate and swift halt to the brutal oppression by the Israeli Police of our brethren in the Land of Israel, peaceful Orthodox Jewish protesters who are systematically and cruelly beaten by Israeli Police for opposing local archeological digging programs.
I understand that under an Act of Congress, The United States Commission for the Preservation of America's heritage Abroad has been established with the express goal "to (2) obtain, in cooperation with the Department of State, assurances from governments that the properties will be protected and preserved".
I join tens of thousands of my fellow Americans all over this great country, in appealing to the State Department to give this urgent matter its utmost attention, in order to save many crumbling Jewish cemeteries in the Land of Israel its fullest attention, and at the same time to raise a voice of conscience against the immoral and despicable campaign by the Israeli authorities to physically crush all voices of opposition to the equally wrong uprooting of centuries-old Jewish burial sites.
