In the world's poorest countries, children with disabilities are more than twice as likely to be out of school as their peers. This has a lifelong effect on their chance to fulfil their potential, live independent lives and support themselves financially as adults.

At Sightsavers, we're fighting for the rights of the world's one billion people with disabilities – to go to school, vote, work, access health care and take part fully in society. It's shocking that in 2019 this denial of basic human rights is still happening, and if our leaders take it seriously, they can push for real and lasting change.
