Every Companion Animal Deserves a Loving Home!

Skinny tan and brown bodies trembled as the dogs gazed with lowered brows at the rescue team from Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF). They had only known one person their whole lives: a well-meaning man who took in strays but quickly became overwhelmed.

What began as a dozen dogs in his home grew to more than one hundred, creating a crisis for a community and their besieged public animal shelter. That's where the ARF came in.

ARF answered the plea for help from the shelter right away, understanding they did not have the resources to deal with overwhelming numbers of neglected dogs needing refuge and medical attention. Week after week, ARF went back to rescue more and relieve the shelter in any way they could. ARF gave them hope - and for the dogs, a chance for a new life.

Around the country, too many cats and dogs find themselves in already-crowded shelters which sadly have no choice but to euthanize when they run out of room.
