The Houdood Ordinance - Pakistan's Denial for Justice for Rape!

Urging the Pakistani government to repeal or amend the Hudood Ordinance to remove discrimination against women and sure that women who are raped receive protection under the law.
The Hudood Ordinance, rape law, current in effect in Pakistan states that either the perpetrator must confess to raping his victim or there must be an eye-witness testimony from at least four Muslim adult males in order for the perpetrator to be convicted.  Otherwise, the woman who reports the rape can be prosecuted herself for fornication if she is unmarried and adultery if she is married.  There have been several reports that police have been involved in the rapes and gang-rapes and even have protected those accused of rape, particularly if they come from influential families.  Women who openly report rape also run the risk of being "dishonored" by their family and, in an act to gain honor again, they must commit suicide.  It's time this stops!  Help me urge Pakistani officials to either repeal or amend the Hudood Ordinance to remove discrimination against women and ensure that women who have been raped receive equal protection under the law in accordance with Pakistan's own Constitution and it's oblications under CEDAW.
