Support Jeremy's Dream Of Preserving The Shinnecock People’s History Through Photography

All over the United States, American Indian communities are working to keep their traditional languages and cultures alive against many challenges. That's why Jeremy Dennis dreams of using photography to document sacred sites in his community in Long Island, NY and increase awareness of Native history in the area.

Jeremy's project, "On This Site," will use photography to explore the resilience of the Shinnecock people and reservation and how they were able to remain on Long Island and presents an opportunity to reflect upon archaeological and oral histories.

As one of Running Strong's "Dreamstarters" – Jeremy is in a group of ten remarkable young people with dreams of promoting arts and culture in their communities. Together, by supporting Jeremy and "On This Site," we can help make sure his dreams come true and the history of the Shinnecock people is preserved.
