GOP Governors: Allow Low-Income Diabetics to Get Medical Care!

26 million people in the United States have diabetes, and 79 million more are at risk for type 2 diabetes or are pre-diabetic. This disease is especially a problem for the poor, and millions of them are left without access to health care. So why are GOP governors turning down Obamacare's Medicaid expansion that could help them get health coverage?

Uninsured diabetics are less likely to get the medical supplies and services they need, go to regular check-ups, or have a reliable source of care at all. They are also forced to pay way higher out of pocket, and sometimes this is impossible.

Unfortunately, many of the GOP governors who wouldn't take the Medicaid expansion are in states with above average diabetes rates such as North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. Also, all of these states have above average poverty rates as well.

Please tell these GOP governors to expand Medicaid and make sure that poor diabetics have access to medical care!

Dear GOP Governors,

There is a major problem with diabetes in the United States right now. 26 million people have the disease, and 79 million are either pre-diabetic or are at risk for type 2 diabetes.

Unfortunately, this illness affects the poor at disproportionate levels. Millions of them have no health care coverage and thus, have no access to supplies and services they need, regular check-ups, or a reliable source of care in general.

Obamacare's Medicaid expansion would help them get health coverage and would enable them to have access to the medical care that they need. But, many of you all are not accepting the expansion.

Please accept this expansion and make sure that all of these people get the health care they need.

Thank you for your time.
