Unwanted children destroy men's lives, also. The idea that a woman's choice to have a child puts legal financial requirements on a man is as archaic as keeping women barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen.
We, the undersigned, believe that NARAL should support choice for men as well. Basic Human Rights dictates Equality in Choice. We also believe that the 14th amendment to our Constitution guarantees equal protection under the law, regardless of gender, etc.
We believe that women are capable of making their own decisions regarding parenthood, including financially supporting their choice.
Some ask, "What about the children?" We answer that if a woman is morally opposed to abortion and must carry to term, these children are better off adopted in two parent homes. That's in the best interest of the child.
Others say that men only want this choice to get out of paying child support. They're partly correct. If a woman can choose based on finances, career, or emotional readiness, men should have the same legal choice.
Women can now legally destroy a man's life, career, finances, and future parental happiness with their choice.
It's time that women realize that their choice to satisfy their emotional and maternal desires is their choice alone and should only involve a man that's ready to commit to a family relationship, and not have him be a financial slave to an unwanted child.
