Remove the Confederate Monument at Hollywood Forever Cemetery!

Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Southern California hosts a Confederate memorial maintained by the United Daughters of the Confederacy, a monument to the whites who left the South around the Civil War and retained their support for slave states. In fact, California event sent a militia to support the Confederate cause. This racist history is nothing to be proud of for the Golden State.
It's time for this, like other Confederate memorials across the country, to be retired. As a historic artifact, it may have value in the collections of a California museum that retains and contextualizes important historical items, but it doesn't belong on the grounds of a cemetery where people come to spend restful time with the dead.
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti needs to lead the charge to push Hollywood Forever, currently owned by Tyler Cassity, to do the right thing and remove this monument to a violent past.

SUCCESS! Hollywood Forever removed this monument during the small hours of Wednesday morning in response to widespread public outcry.
